Front row celebs Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black), legendary Fashion Icon Iris Apfel, supermodel Karolina Kurkova and TV persona Nigel Barker (from Top Model and The Face) were among the many fashion lovers that crowded Desigual’s Spring ’16 show this year. The vibrant Barcelona-based brand packes quite a punch as the trend-setting label kicked it up a notch for NYFW, presenting not one, not two, but three (!) storylines for the ladies of Spring/Summer ’16.

The music was rocking; the vivid, wild prints – tamed only by the fierce hairpieces the models wore as they strutted down the runway at the Skylight at Moynihan Station on September 10. The sound stylings of in-demand DJ Javier Peral kicked the show off, taking cues for inspiration from the electrifying city of Barcelona. The lineup celebrated three types of ladies. The first, a carefree eccentric woman with a sporty, casual look (think eye-popping colorful prints). The second, an eclectic sensualist who mixes it up with lush florals and abstracts. And rounding out the collection, the fun-loving sophisticated intellectual, fan of both color and structured sophistication.  Desigual is a vibrant label celebrated by women the world over for its bold, frenetic energy. Colorful florals, stripes and tribal ethnic prints were the order of the day for the upcoming season and Desigual delivered in spades.
