Diane von Furstenberg is among a handful of designers that have truly earned the title Fashion LEGEND. Of course, she needs no intro but DVF — as the fashion world affectionately calls both the renowned designer and her eponymous brand – created the iconic wrap dress in 1974. And since then, the designer (who married into royalty with her first marriage to Prince Egon of Furstenberg) has continued to stay at the top of the oft times fickle fashion charts with an entire line of womens’ ready-to-wear, accessories, fragrance, home designs – and books and her own TV show on E!, The House of DVF.
Being such an ardent fan, I was so thrilled to meet her in person during a charity event she hosted at her Santa Monica boutique on October 29th on behalf of the Milken Institute. An economic think tank, the Milken Institute seeks to improve the lives and economic conditions of people in the U.S. and around the world.
Champagne and yummy hors d’oerves (ahi tacos, tomatoes with burrata, fig sandwiches) were served by waiters as we took in the latest looks from DVF with a special styling presentation from the Fall Collection.
My #ootd for the night? Why, DVF herself of course!
And, taking a cue from Diane herself as she famously signs off…
