Inside Maxim’s Hot 100

It was not hard to get my boyfriend to come with me to the Maxim Hot 100 Party. In fact, clearly, it would have been hard for me to get him not to come.

Not hard to see why. Hosted by supermodel Stella Maxwell – and with performances by Iggy Azalea, Nick Cannon and Red One – this annual star-studded bash celebrated Maxim’s latest crop of their hot 100 picks of the ladies-of-the-moment. According to their press release, they distribute honors for those displaying ‘stunning, sophisticated and elegant.’ According to some other opinions, its some of the ladies other, um… assets that are seriously on fleek.

Of course, Maxim is the iconic magazine that caters to mens’ and adolescent boys’ wildest fantasies – and then some. It reaches nearly 9 million readers each month, with another 4 million from digital editions. The magazine is carried in 75 countries, with 16 editions and if my boyfriend/brothers/male friends/random guys I meet in the street are to be believed, it is pretty much one of the gospels of male wish fulfillment.

Held at the Hollywood Palladium, the event drew scores of celebs, A-listers, influencers and of course, some of the winning 100 ladies of Maxim. To name a few: Perez Hilton, Charlotte McKinney (she of future Baywatch fame and who already got my boyfriend drooling over her Carl’s Jr ad), Amber Rose, Tyson Beckford, Russel Simmons, Cassie Scerbo, Mel B, Chanel Iman and Chanel West Coasts (hmm, so many Chanel’s, so little time?)

There were also plenty of other stunning models and entertainers flitting around. Gorgeous models, wearing naturally very little at all (I mean, this is a Maxim party!) were performing acrobatic stunts that left me in awe and many of the guys in attendance some variation of either drooling or scrambling to grab a pic on their iPhones for um… posterity, shall we say?

Another sexy, cheeky only-at-a-Maxim-party group of models walked around in scandalously but somehow elegant fashion-forward dress – naked with some gold and black pieces strategically layered on. Sometimes, less is more! I never felt more overdressed wearing a see-through lace top! But it was all in great fun and super on point for the night – and yes, the boyfriend swears he enjoyed it, but uh, not thaaat much! Liar! But I love him anyway!

There were also three elegantly clad ladies, giving the impression of the three muses. Gallany Cosmetics was in hand to glam up the ladies – as if any lady there really needed extra glamming up! A silent auction was held, featuring such incredible swag as signed basketballs, movie posters and football helmets from the likes of Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan and the Star Wars cast!

Guests were further treated to the Best Damn Root Beer floats around, along with energizing power drinks from Monster Energy and H2rOse. And outside, guests played on Swagtron smart boards alongside a makeshift obstacle course. The event was produced by Karma International.
