Fashion meets technology is no longer a dating headline (seriously, I’ve been invited to dating/hook-up parties with this title, ugh!). During February’s NYFW, Intel threw a big bash celebrating Tech and Fashion’s union. And trendy fashionistas came out to support – hey, love is love, right? Cipriana Quann and Nikisha Brunson – sisters from the uber blog UrbanBushBabes – were among the fashion glitterati to partake in the #intelxNYFW festivities.
Held at Skylight at Clarkson Square on the second day of Fashion Week, the Intel party was a way of reminding fashionistas that the once-strange bedfellows are not one of those flavor of the moment pairings (you know, like your Spring Break college fling). In fact, according to CFDA President & CEO Steven Kolb, “we will start to see more of technology embedded into design, simply because we will have figured out a way where it enhances the look and fit of the piece.”
And we’re already seeing it: right here in LA, in the cool new fitting rooms in Rebecca Minkoff’s flagship Melrose location and Century City’s remodeled Bloomingdale’s. And on the runways, Becca McCharen incorporated Intel’s Curie Module in her designs for her architecture-inspired clothing line Chromat. Louise Roe – the uber model/personality was also spotted with an Intel Emoji Badge during Fashion Week.
The future looks bright, indeed.Share the XOXO's with your BESTIES and FRENEMIES
