All the world may be a stage, but in New York, it’s a Runway. Especially for fashion designer Leanne Marshall, who got her big start as Project Runway’s Season 5 winner. But the reality show star hasn’t stopped there. Now a staple at New York Fashion Week – and others around the world, the winning designer opened her latest ambitious show February 13th at Skylight at Clarkson Square.
Ta’Rhonda Jones (Empire), Arden Cho (Teen Wolf), Lauren Makk (Fab-Life co-host) and Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (2015 Miss Universe winner) were among the celebs spotted in the front row.
Showcasing forty-four future #ootd’s for Fall/Winter ’16, the designer – whose designs often evoke images of fairytale life come true – envisions a wintery wonderland.
Shades of black, brown, grey and white – with a few pops of yellow and wine — paraded down the catwalk in organza silks and chiffons with beaded details, illusion bodices, velvet, lace and petal details. The showstopper of the show was a stunning floor-length evening dress in grey silk and chiffon with pleated and textured silk ruffles down its train. Exquisite!
