Mister Triple X – Vortex Collection (Swimwear) for Art Hearts LAFW Spring ’16

The Art Hearts Los Angeles Fashion Party took a dive down the rabbit hole on October 6th as Triple X presented its Spring ’16 swimwear collection (entitled Vortex).

The streetwear brand, known for its edgy style, was created and designed by (well, lo and behold!) the creator and exec producer of Art Hearts himself – Erik Rosete. Even in Los Angeles, a town built on multi-hyphenates (just how many ‘triple threat writer-actor-director’s are there?!?) – this seems in particular impressive. He also adds to his credits guest spots on fashion shows, such as America’s Next Top Model (gee, also a sponsor of Art Hearts). A former real estate agent and broker, the designer clearly found his passions steering him toward a more creative level.

A designer who is taken with SoCal living, his swimwear collection for Spring ’16 (the first of two shows he held for Art Hearts) showed a true California joie de vivre. At once body-conscious and cheeky (literally and figuratively), the models walked down the runway shirtless, tatt’d and chiseled (the men) or in evocative bunny ears and go-go boots or heels. Bunny ears are, of course, the emblem for Mr. Triple X – but when paired with stunning models in skimpy bathing suits can’t (ahem!) help but conjure up comparisons of those other bunnies at Hef’s grotto. Very glam and iconic indeed.

The swimwear collection – perfect for your next trip to St Barth’s or Santorini – is all about sex and glamour. Indeed, Mister Triple X went big on metallic for next season – why should it just be the sun to shine? Silvers, golds and blacks – and sexy, sexy cutouts — were the themes of the night as models strutted down the catwalk to rocking tunes.

Hair (for the ladies) was loose, with more product for the boys. Footwear was provided by Emmet Shoes. Tyler McDaniels styled the night.

Art Hearts was founded in 2011 by philanthropist and Mister Triple X designer Erik Rosete. Sponsors include Top Model, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Whole Foods. Mosaic Floral Design created the beautiful roses and lily installations that welcomed guests.
