There were so many #omg moments at Sachin & Babi for their glamorous Fall/Winter ’16 presentation. A violinist greeted fashionistas as we shucked our coats and scarves, transporting us into a rather decadent party atmosphere, complete with all-the-beautiful-people partygoers (the models). Or really, everyone there. It is NYFW, after all! And no detail was left unattended to, starting (as per Sachin & Babi’s usual) with the gorgeous location for the presentation (this season, held at a charming Meatpacking District townhome: 632 on Hudson).
Situated throughout the rooms and balconies, models lounged about in evening attire. Husband-wife designer team Sachin and Babi Anluwalla spoke of being inspired by recent trips to Spain, specifically Granada and Valenicia. (And really, who wouldn’t?) So classic old-world Latin silhouettes filled the rooms – dresses with many-tiered ruffles, jewel tones and velvet and silky textures. Floral embellishments and boleros capped off the picture-perfect party tone.
Favorites included gowns with dramatic color combos of black and pops of bold teal and azure blue florals. Those who just want a touch of old-world drama can always opt to pair the bolero for another take on flamenco dancer style.
Later that night, naturally, was the after-party. We jettisoned back uptown to The Rickey at Dream Midtown. DJ Nate Fletcher kept the party rocking as Cloud No 9 whetted appetites with Sauvignon Blanc.Share the XOXO's with your BESTIES and FRENEMIES
